Perfecting the fringe
The starting point
It started with a piece we wanted to take further.
The Fringe Midi began with a piece we already loved. Knitted in a soft wool blend, it fits through the body with our classic waist cinch, so it holds its shape while giving you room to move. Knitwear built to this kind of structure takes longer to develop than a woven dress, and every adjustment to the fit means knitting it again.
The concept
More texture. More movement. Every detail considered.
The sampling
A dress that needed to move as beautifully as it looked.
We sampled it in motion, watching how it walked, turned and sat, and refined it until the fringe moved as beautifully as it looked standing still.
The detail
The beauty is in how it falls.
Layers of delicate fringe are placed so they fall and sway together, with fine pearls tracing the seam where they meet. Getting that balance right, enough movement without losing the line of the dress, is slow, careful work.
