Does iconic even cut it for Mama Mia? Who can forget Sophie and Sky’s beautiful wedding when all three of Sophie’s potential ‘Dads’ pop up from the row of seats? As it becomes this beautiful moment of love confessions, Sky and Sophie chose to leave the alter (unmarried) to travel the world. And to top it all off? Instead her mum (Donna) ends up marrying the long-lost love of her life.

Possibly one of the most heartbreaking yet renowned wedding scenes to date, after all adorning over Carrie and ‘Bigs’ love story the day was finally here. Only for Big to humiliate Carrie as his doubts got the best of him. The moment still gives us chills as the cars cross in the street and Carrie and Big meet on the road moments after, where Carrie’s emotions come flooding out and a moment between best friends takes over as Charlotte protects a heartbroken Carrie at all costs.
Gossip Girl
While we know Gossip Girl does not count as a ‘movie,’ is there really any wedding more iconic than Blair and Chuck’s? We still get goosebumps watching Chunk run down those steps in his white suit towards Blair as the sirens come closer. Sealed with a kiss just before they are whisked away by the cops. Not forgetting the whispered ‘I love you’ said to be improvised by Ed Westwick.
Friends
While this was never a ‘will they, won’t they?’ kind of friendship turned lovers situation, there was no better moment for Friends fans than watching the two best friends marry after seven seasons. In the iconic moment of saying ‘I do,’ Monica discovers Chandler actually went missing ahead of the big day letting his marriage fears get the best of him after hearing the ‘You’ve reached the Bings’ voice message sending him into shock. All ending with their beautifully written vows in a moment of understanding.
Love Actually
This double-decade-old, classic rom-com will always remain a go-to for movie nights. Just as Juliet and Peter walk down the aisle to leave the alter as a married couple, the infamous moment appears as the orchestra starts singing stopping them in their tracks. Not forgetting that it was organised by the groom's best friend who embodied the classic ‘if you love her let her go’ fairytale moment as he watched her move on.
My Best Friend’s Wedding
There’s no sweeter moment than watching Kimmy get her happily ever after with Michael after the challenges thrown their way by Julianne’s sabotage in an attempt to make her best friend Michael her own. The iconic wedding scene (spoiler alert) entails Julianne’s renowned speech and the happy couple walk away hand in hand.
